TJ Reworks is a small Australian handmade clothing & accessory business located in the Hunter Valley, Australia.
The owner of TJ Reworks, Tyra Ryan, dedicated this business to giving pre-loved textiles a second life to join the Fashion Circularity movement to reduce textile waste on our environment.
Every piece is thoughtfully designed & handmade from reclaimed materials, transforming what already exists - using donated & rescued pre-loved fabrics & materials, recycled into something new.
No mass production, no duplicates—just one-of-one slow fashion investment pieces made with creativity, care and sustainability in mind.

Every bag, accessory and garment is thoughtfully reworked & transformed to give existing fabrics that were on their way to landfill a new life—making each piece as unique as the person who owns it <3
🫶 About Tyra,
the creative designer behind the brand
The name TJ Reworks comes from my middle name being Jade. TJ is a nickname given to me as a child that my close friends & family members still call me today, making my brand a personal reflection of both my creative journey and my commitment to reworking and reimagining existing materials into one-of-a-kind pieces as a small, independent designer.

I started my business journey from scratch in early 2026, post-graduating in 2025 from studying Fashion & Design, to join the movement of reducing the impact of textile waste on our environment.
Every year, 92 million tonnes of textile waste is generated globally, most of it being dumped into landfill - some taking longer than plastics to break down.
Another main reason for starting my TJ Reworks journey was so I could design one-of-one slow-fashion investment pieces where my valued customers will never have to stumble across someone else with the exact same one!

💖 Expanding The Impact
A % portion of all Scrap Scrunchie & Keychain purchases are donated to carefully chosen charity organisations that are documented on my Instagram Page @tj.reworks on the "CHARITY" Highlight.
TJ Reworks was founded with the belief that fashion can be creative without creating unnecessary waste. By reworking existing fabrics instead of producing new ones, each collection embraces individuality, craftsmanship and conscious design.

At TJ Reworks, we believe the most sustainable fabric is the one that already exists.
Every piece is thoughtfully handmade using donated clothing and deadstock fabrics that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. By reworking existing materials into functional, everyday accessories & clothing, we’re able to reduce textile waste while celebrating the character and history that each fabric already carries.
Part of our mission is to ensure no two pieces are ever the same. Every bag, accessory and garment is completely one of a kind—designed to be as unique as the person who owns it.
Our mission extends beyond creating handmade products, through our charity donations as stated above & our community clothing donation program.
We encourage people to donate their unwanted textiles. Giving them a second chance in exchange for store credit on future purchases, instead of throwing them away.
Donations become the foundation for future collections, helping to keep valuable materials in use for longer and supporting a more circular approach to fashion.

🌱 Our Sustainable Business Practices
At TJ Reworks, sustainability doesn’t stop at giving pre-loved materials a second life—it’s considered throughout the entire creative process.
Every piece is thoughtfully handmade using existing garments and reclaimed fabrics, helping to reduce textile waste while creating something completely one of a kind.
Any fabric offcuts that remain after production are carefully set aside and transformed into our charity-supporting scrunchies and keychains wherever possible, ensuring even the smallest pieces have a purpose.
Beyond fabric, I also save and reuse as many original garment components as I can, including buttons, zippers, buckles, straps, elastics, labels, and other hardware. These materials are thoughtfully incorporated into future designs, giving them a second life instead of sending them to landfill.
While it’s impossible to eliminate waste entirely, my goal is to make the most of every material that comes through my studio and create beautiful, functional pieces with as little waste as possible.
